Access by Car

Road access for cars and other vehicles will come from a new junction on Milford Road, which will likely feature a dedicated right turn bay. The new junction would keep the existing pedestrian crossings that would link the new homes to Walton High School.

Walking and Cycling

New homes would be served by four bus routes operating from  bus stops on Milford Road and Widecombe Avenue. There are services to Rugeley and Lichfield, as well as to Stafford Town Centre and Stafford Railway Station.

Milford Road benefits from footpaths, and safe crossings exist at regular intervals in the form of pelican and toucan crossings, alongside a pedestrian island.

There is an existing Public Right of Way (PRoW) footpath that crosses the south-western corner of the field and provides pedestrian access to Weeping Cross. This is shown as the orange dotted line in the image above.

There are cycle routes in proximity to the proposed new homes. The Rise forms part of an cycle route towards Brocton and Cannock Chase, whilst Bodmin Avenue to the west forms part of National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 5, which provides access to Stafford Town Centre. The close proximity of this National Cycle Route will provide all residents with the option to cycle into Stafford Town Centre, as well as recreational and leisure opportunities.
